It is indeed funny how writing so much for work simply puts off blogging. At least, for me, it does. 4 articles down in 4 days, and this week's reviews were all cancelled due to CNY preparations and such. Weird, indeed.
NUS decides to shortchange us on our mid-term break, happily combining both the wonderful 3 days of CNY public hols with our mid-term break, leaving us with only 3 extra days of no-lessons. Wonderful. It doesn't make a difference anyway, considering the amount of assignments and tests snowballing in immediately after mid-term break. Lovely, how lovely.
And I'm up in the dead of the night at a weird 4am typing away at this pretty-jaded blog of mine. Started since God-knows-when (18?), its four years worth of writing history in there, baby. And how my style has changed. I was just reading some of my past entries and I realise I sounded pretty much like an air-head. University life has turned me into a nocturnal creature, and save for my Punggol-induced tan, I probably behave very much like a vampire already. Lessons starting after 10am means that I can sleep pretty much after 4am. It annoys me at times to witness my own schedule, but ah, lack of discipline. I can't help it.
Speaking of CNY, 2007 is here with a renewed vengeance. The fact that I cut down to almost a negligible amount of CNY goodies last year meant I haven't got to taste such goodness for two years (and more, probably). Cravings come fast and strong - pineapple tarts, love-letters (damn it, I used to avoid love-letters), bak kwa, heh bee hiam, kueh lapis, peanut cakes...I can go on, really. Damn me and my stomach-who-loves-food-too-much.
Still, nothing stops me from grabbing my bak kwa sandwich for breakfast tomorrow. Oh, for the love of CNY, let's just screw the "I can't eat, I'm on a diet!" and all.
